1: Yarmouth Old Gaffers Festival with sailing vessels including the Old Gaffers fleet, live music, stalls and entertainments. In Yarmouth harbour, square and green. 2: Brass In Concert - Cowes Concert Band performs music for all tastes
at St John's Church, Newport, at 8pm. Admission is free, with a retiring collection in aid of church and band funds.

5: Brading craft and gift fair
at Brading Church Hall, 10am-3.30pm.

6: National Tea at 3 in aid of Hospices across the country. To hold a tea party for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice ring 01983 528989; Beauty and cosmetic day at the new four star Lake Side Park Hotel, Wootton, 2pm-9pm in aid of Earl Mountbatten Hospice. Tickets are £20 each to include a glass of wine and nibbles. 21: St Thomas Church Summer Fair in aid of Earl Mountbatten Hospice at Church Litten Newport, 10am-3pm; All Saints School Summer Fayre, School Green Road, Freshwater, 11am-2pm; Northwood Primary School Summer Fayre with stalls, face painting, bouncy castles, displays, games, competitions and refreshments. 22: Barton Manor open day with a garden party theme in aid of Earl Mountbatten Hospice, 10am-4pm at Barton Manor, East Cowes; Vectis Historic Vehicle Club Open Day in aid of Earl Mountbatten Hospice, at Arreton Barns, 10am to 4pm. Entry £2 for exhibitors, public £1, children Free. VHVC members must be on site by 10am, so they can be displayed together. Visiting clubs should arrive at 11am. Judging of cars, presentation of certificates and rosettes with 'Best Car of the Show' presentation. There will also be a raffle; IW Soapbox Derby Challenge at Downside Middle School, Newport; Borthwood Story telling and wildlife journeys, National Trust Wildzone activity for kids and families. 28: JP Morgan Asset Management Round the Island sailing race, 50 mile course around the Island attracting up to 1800 boats starting at Cowes at 5am.
