SONG, dance and magic was the focus of The Children’s Society sixth annual concert last month.
The concert, at Ryde United Reformed Church, featured performances from The Select Singers, the Boyle O’Dowda Irish Dancers and magician Brian Baffles.

The Select Singers ensemble, under the direction of Dr David Wright, performed a wide range of songs, that included Laughter Of The Children, Sarah In The Shoe Shine Shop and Jerusalem.
There were a number of individual singing performances, including renditions of Winnie The Pooh, by nine-year-old Jessica Watson, who made her first public solo appearance, and Victory Of The March Elephants by Sherena Jackson, 12. Other singers included Natalie Warner, Sheila Strickland, Bethan John and Marie Smith. Miss Smith also performed two saxophone solos.
The concert was enjoyed by an 80-strong audience with the £175 proceeds going to The Children’s Society.
• The Select Singers will be performing concerts at the Zion Chapel, Ryde, tonight (Friday) and at Bembridge Village Hall on Saturday, May 31.
