LOOKING FOR CHIVERTON FAMILY FACTS

ISLANDERS REUNITED
From David Chiverton, 8 Smurl Lane, West Huntspill, Somerset, TA9 3QT:
I AM researching my family history, which until fairly recent times lay on the IW.
My great grandfather, Robert John Chiverton, was postmaster in East Cowes around the turn of the 19th century, his wife, Louisa Jane Chiverton (nee Groves), ran a stationery and tobacconist business next door in York Avenue.
Their only surviving son, Stanley Robert Chiverton, was my paternal grandfather, who left the Island at an early age to join the merchant navy, eventually settling with his wife, Gladys (nee Riley), in Liverpool.
I would be delighted to hear from anyone who can increase my knowledge of the family either before or after my great grandfather's time.
