THIS is the latest IW Council bulletin warning of possible traffic delays. Watch for diversions. Access to businesses is maintained where possible.
Adgestone — Lower Road closed from 9.30am until 3.30pm each day from Monday to Friday between Monday and Friday, August 1, from the Mall to Well Lane and Sheep Lane will be closed between Upper and Lower Road during the same period. The closure is for replacement of telephone poles.
Arreton — A3056 Hale Common (Apse Heath side of Jubilee Garden centre). Temporary traffic lights until 4.30pm on Tuesday for carriageway repairs.
Atherfield — Byway SW56 closed from Kingston Road to Atherfield Road until 4pm next Friday, July 25, as it is unsuitable for vehicles.
Bembridge — Coastal footpath BB10. Closed from footpath BB27 to footpath BB16 to around 4pm on Monday, August 4, because of erosion/land movement.
Brading — A3055 High Street (outside 67). Temporary traffic lights from 9am on Tuesday until 5pm on Thursday for new electricity supply.
Brook — Byway BS106 closed to vehicles from Brook Village Road to the Military Road until 4pm next Friday, July 25, as it is unsuitable for traffic.
Brook — Footpath BS79. Closed until around Friday, November 21, from footpath BS98 to a point 78m north-east, because of landslip.
Carisbrooke — Calbourne Road. Closed between Alvington Road and Pump Lane, three-quarters of a mile Carisbrooke side of Calbourne crossroads until 6pm next Friday, July 25, for road repairs and resurfacing.
Compton/Freshwater — Footpath BS79. Closed from footpath BS78 to the beach until 4pm next Friday, July 25, because of land movement/erosion.
Cowes — Mill Hill Road, from Gordon Road to Consort Road. Temporary traffic lights until 6pm on Thursday, for gas main and services installation.
Cowes — Mornington Road, east side, from the Queen’s Road junction for 35m south. Temporary no-waiting restriction until Tuesday, September 30, for homes development.
Cowes — Consort Road, south-west side of the road from 44m to 78m north-west of the junction with Mill Hill Road. Temporary no-waiting 7am to 5pm, Mondays to Fridays until around Thursday, March 12, 2009, for building work on the site of the former Cowes Medical Centre.
Cowes — Park Road, near Blackberry Lane junction. Temporary traffic lights 9am to 4.30pm today (Friday), for road repairs.
Cowes — Solent View Road (outside 52-54). Temporary traffic lights from 8am on Wednesday until 4.30pm on Friday.
Cowes/Gurnard area — No parking on The Parade from Saturday, July 26 until Wednesday, August 13, in connection with Cowes Week Festival. No access to The Parade will be possible from Castle Hill during this period. Various traffic and parking restrictions will be introduced for the festival, which takes place between 6am on Friday, August 1 and 10am on Sunday, August 10.
East Cowes — Old Road/Newbarn Road. One-way restriction from Link Road to Hefford Road, between 82 and 84 Old Road and A3021 York Avenue, tomorrow (Saturday) from about 4pm until 11.30pm, because of a classical music concert at Osborne House.
East Cowes — Old Road/Newbarn Road. One-way restriction from Link Road to Hefford Road, between 84 Old Road and A3021 York Avenue, from 3pm to about 9pm on Saturday, July 26, and Sunday, July 27, for all vehicles arriving at the Osborne House summer music concerts. Traffic in Old Road/Newbarn Road will only be allowed to travel in that direction (south easterly).
Gurnard — Footpath CS35. Closed until around Friday, November 21, between a point 57m north of Marsh Road and the junction with footpath CS36, because of sea wall collapse.
Lake — Newport Road, next to Lamorbey Road. Temporary traffic lights from 9.30am to 4pm until today (Friday), to renew street light columns. Temporary lights also Lake side of Whitecross Lane 9am to 4pm until tomorrow (Saturday) for kerb work.
Newport — Newport Main Carnival will formup in Matalan car park, off Furrlongs at 6.30pm tomorrow (Sat-urday). The parade is due to leave at 7.30pm and will proceed along Furrlongs, South Street, St James’s Street, Pyle Street, High Street, Quay Street and The Quay, where the procession should arrive at 8.45pm. Each road will be closed for a short period to allow the procession to pass through. Additional traffic delays will occur in the South Street, High Street, Sea Street, Quay Street and Quay areas during the above times.
Newport — Footpath N174. Closed from its junction with Snooks Hill to footpath N175 section from Newport Quay/Riverside Centre to next to Coppins Bridge roundabout until 8am on Thursday, November 27, because of building work.
Newport — Victoria Road. Closed permanently to vehicles on the Fairlee Road side of St Paul’s View Road following the construction of a gate across the road.
Newport — Footpath N31 closed between Daish Way and Bishop’s Way until around 5pm on Friday, August 15, for footpath repair and resurfacing.
Newtown — Footpath CB9. Closed between footpath CB15A and a point 240m north until Friday, December 12, because of land movement and erosion.
Niton — Footpath NT51 (Puckaster) between footpath V99 and footpath NT49, footpath NT47 (Reeth Bay) between bridleway NT42 at Castlehaven and footpath NT49, footpath NT49 (Puckaster) between footpath NT47 and footpath NT55 and footpath NT50 (Puckaster) between footpath NT47 and footpath NT51 remain closed until Friday, November 21, because of landslip.
Niton — Niton Road. Closed between Appleford Road (Leechmore Cross junction) and Southford Lane until Friday, August 1, for road repairs and resurfacing.
Ryde — St John’s Hill (junction with Lower Highland Road). Temporary traffic lights from 9am on Monday until 5pm on Friday, July 25, for sewer work.
Ryde — St John’s Road. Some delays likely at times at junction of Monkton Street, where traffic light timings are being altered as necessary until around mid-August for road and footpath work at St John’s Road railway bridge.
Ryde — Carters Road, on bend next to Oak Farm entrance. Temporary traffic lights 9am to 4.30pm today (Friday), to install hazard posts.
Shanklin — A3050 Victoria Avenue (outside Rychris Court, number 8). Temporary traffic lights from 9am on Monday until 5pm on Wednesday for new gas connection.
St Helens — B3330 Eddington Road (outside Seaways). Temporary traffic lights until about 4pm on Wednesday for sewer repairs.
Totland/Freshwater — Fort Warden Road closed between Colwell Road and Colwell Common Road from 7am to 7pm on Saturday, July 26, for Freshwater and Totland Main Carnival activities. Madeira Road, the Broadway, The Avenue, Avenue Road, School Green Road and Stroud Road will be closed for a short period to allow the carnival procession to pass through. The procession is due to formup in Madeira Road at 6pm and leave at 7pm along the above route. it is due to arrive at Stroud Recreation Ground 9off Stroud Road) at about 8.30pm.
Ventnor — Footpath V90. Closed from footpath V91 for 300m towards Ventnor until Friday, December 12, because of land movement/erosion. Footpath V124 (The Undercliff) remains closed between Undercliff Drive and footpath V99 until around Friday, November 21, because of landslip.
Ventnor/Whitwell — Whitwell Road/Ventnor Road/High Street is due to be closed between Gills Cliff Road (Ventnor) and Kemming Road (Whitwell) from about Monday, August 4, until Tuesday, September 2, for carriageway repairs and resurfacing work
Wootton — Park Road. Closed from Lushington Hill to Station Road 9.30am until 3.30pm today (Friday), for telephone pole replacement.
Wroxall — High Street (outside Boveys Dream, at Manor Road junction). Temporary traffic lights from 9am on Monday until 4pm on Tuesday for new water connection.
