AUTHOR MAKES NO BONES ABOUT IT
Island playwright Charlotte Barton-Hoare, with her skeleton travelling companion.
ISLAND playwright Charlotte Barton-Hoare raised a few eyebrows on Saturday as she headed to London with a life-size skeleton in tow.
The macabre travelling companion was part of Charlotte’s forthcoming Soho performance of her hit play Creena De Foouie and the pair were travelling to London to rehearse ahead of Sunday’s performance at the Soho Revue Bar.
“I got a few strange looks on the train and some people were laughing. I’m a drama teacher at Sandown High and I borrowed it from one of the science teachers,” said Charlotte.
The show has already earned plaudits after stints at the Edinburgh and Hamilton, Canada, fringe festivals.
Islanders will have another chance to see the musical tale of murder, revenge and madness on September 27 at Quay Arts.
“It is constantly evolving and we are always writing new bits for it, but I have also been working on a lot of new stuff as well,” said Charlotte.
