Isle of Wight: Footprint Trust energy saving event
All about saving energy
By County Press Reporter -
Thursday, November 20, 2008
AROUND 600 people went to find out more about renewable energy and fuel efficiency and dozens have signed up to have their homes insulated.
The three events were organised by the Footprint Trust during October half term week.
The aim was to offer some help to householders facing high energy bills through subsidised and free insulation schemes. Dozens of people are now signed up to get their homes insulated.
The Footprint Trust also offered detailed guidance on how best to save energy in the home and the events distributed some 200 low-energy lamps and dozens of save-a-flush bags.
Businesses were also given the opportunity to find out about energy options, profits and savings from Business Link, who held an event as part of the week at the Riverside Centre, Newport.
An event is to be held at the end of November to promote use of woodfuels following on from these events. More details from the Island 2000 Trust on 01983 298098.
