Isle of Wight: Lois Prior received Churchill silver medallion
Green takes silver in Churchill awards

Friday, July 11, 2008
Lois Prior received the silver medallion.
A NEWPORT woman has officially become a fellow.
Lois Prior, from Parkhurst Road, went to the City of London’s Guildhall to receive her Churchill silver medallion from Lady Soames, together with 123 other fellows.
Lois, 39, works for Green Island, helping businesses turn greener and has a lifelong interest in the environment.
She used her Churchill Travelling Fellowship grant to go to New Zealand and Japan and study how they meet their own particular and very different environmental challenges.
And she is putting together an on-line resource to enable businesses to learn from other countries’ experiences.
“We’d better learn pretty quickly, though, because we are in danger of being overtaken by events like oil running out and food price rises, before we even get out of the starting blocks,” she said.
