LOTS OF LOTS FOR CHARITY

GLITTERING lots raising cash for charity will precede Tuesday’s auction at Shanklin Auction Rooms.
The sale, which starts at 10.30am, includes the star lot of racing for two on a 68ft yacht during Cowes Week, supplied by Ondeck.
There will be a Southampton FC signed pennant and an Ian Wright signed England football shirt.
Wight Classics supplied a day’s classic car hire and Systima a 15 inch LCD tv.
There is a meal for two at the Pond Cafe, Bonchurch, and tandem paragliding supplied by Butterfly Paragliding.
A night’s full-board stay is on offer at the Hambrough Hotel at Ventnor. There are Bestival tickets, a Solent cruise for two on the Waverley paddle steamer, a day and overnight stay package at Utopia Spa and two tickets for the Undercliff Discovery Tour supplied by Cheetah Marine.
The lots were to have been auctioned at an open day at ITS Tools at Dodnor Industrial Estate, Newport, today (Friday).
But, while the event provided entertainment from performers from Platform One, magician Randini and barbecue food, bids fell below reserve.
Auctioneer Warren Riches said: “It was thought that considering it was raising funds for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice and the lots were so good that we might achieve a better result for the charity on Tuesday.”
