POLICE CLOSE UNDERCLIFF PROBE
By Ross Findon -
Thursday, March 27, 2008
A POLICE investigation into the Undercliff Drive Scandal has ended.
A spokesman for the serious and organised crime unit said there was insufficient evidence to support a continued police investigation, following its initial inquiries.
Mike Starke, 64, of Town Lane, Chale Green, who led the calls for the council-commissioned legal investigation and was interviewed by police for their inquiries, said: “This does not surprise me as it took the IW Council investigators a year to breach the wall of silence guilty people central to the issue built around their wrongdoing.”
Mr Starke thanked police for their efforts.
