SHIPBUILDERS OFFER 200 JOBS

By Clare Wall - Wednesday, March 26, 2008
A RECRUITMENT event by VT Shipbuilding will be held in Ryde tomorrow (Thursday).
The Portsmouth-based firm is looking to recruit a further 200 workers thanks to the number of contracts it has won, including building six ships for export customers, constructing bow sections, funnels and masts for the Royal Navy’s new Type 45 destroyers, and building sections for new aircraft carriers.
VT will also offer its Island employees an interest-free ferry season ticket deal once a probationary period has been completed.
The recruitment fair will be held at Yelfs Hotel, Ryde, between 2pm and 9pm.
