Top five to battle it out in first live heat
Holly Kirby came third in Live/Wired's online poll. She will perform in the live heat with four other acts on Wednesday.
THE votes have been cast and the top five acts to fight it out on stage in the first heat of Live/Wired on Wednesday have been decided.
The first round has seen some of the Island’s best original music acts battle on-line for a spot in the live semi-final of the County Press competition, in association with Platform One.
This year, the County Press created a dedicated on-line mini-site www.iwcp.co.uk/livewired/index.php, where visitors could hear tracks from the 12 bands in the first round, watch videos and see profiles and pictures.
Almost 600 people voted for their favourite acts, with the top five going through to Wednesday’s live heat at The Studio.
The top five were — Cozy Flashbak, Siniez, Holly Kirby, The Kurves and Equinox.

“Yet again the Island has shown how much original talent is out there,” said County Press editor and judge at last year’s grand final, Alan Marriott.
“We have been so impressed by the standard and diversity of the entries.” On Wednesday, the bands must show they can perform on stage in front of an audience and a panel of judges.
The judges will have the tough task of choosing two bands to go through to the grand final early next year.
They will go up against two more acts chosen from a second on-line round and live heat — see the Live/Wired website for details.
