THE Island’s Nick Groocock won a bronze medal at the third World Masters Indoor Athletics Championships, in France.
Groocock, who has not competed for three years following knee surgery, ran the first leg of the Great Britain Masters M45 4 x 200m relay against the likes of France and Germany.
Groocock also progressed through the heats, quarter finals and into semi-finals in both the 200m and 400m, finishing 12th and 8th respectively.
He set a new personal best and club age record for the 200m with his semi-final performance with a time of 24.64 seconds and was only three-hundredths of a second away from his personal best in the semi of the 400m, after running two earlier rounds.
