HOLDERS Shanklin crashed out of the Island Webservices Senior Cup at the first hurdle on Saturday.
They went down by eight wickets to Ryde.

Shanklin scored 185-9 from their 40 overs, Stuart Peak top-scoring with 45, with Danny Bishop close behind on 41.
Lawrence Tolfrey enjoyed the best of Ryde’s bowling, picking up four wickets from his eight overs, at the expense of just 32 runs.
And he had a magnificent day with the bat, too, scoring 71 runs before being caught by F. Stubbings.
Young Jamie Miller opened the batting and scored 33, while Richie Wilson hit 54 not out as Ryde strolled to 189-2.
Only two of the four games in the opening round were played.
Ventnor progressed to the second round of the IW Senior Cup after opponents GKN were unable to raise a side.
Meanwhile Ryde Cavaliers went through to the second round when Westover forfeited.
Northwood, with four of the Goldsmith dynasty in its ranks, went through to the second round after a 177-run victory over Whitecroft.
The highlight of the match was an outstanding 102 not out knock by Gavin Paddock for Northwood.
Jon Goldsmith was not out for 21 by the end of the innings and then took two catches.
Simon Goldsmith took five wickets for just 12 runs off seven overs, while son Nathan Goldsmith took three wickets for 25. Ashley Goldsmith took one catch.
Top scorer for Whitecroft was Chris Hennessey for 28.
