TWENTY Ryde School pupils jetted off this week to South Africa for a spectacular two-week cricket tour.
The under-14s squad, led by teacher Cameron Henderson, went to Durban on Wednesday with only a day to settle in before their first match — a day/night contest — at the Peter Booysen Varsity Oval.
Tomorrow (Saturday), the squad faces Port Natal High School before they set off for a safari in Hluhluwe and the Hilltop Camp and then fly to Cape Town, where they will play Langa on Thursday.
Two more matches, against Jan Van Riebeeck High School and Table View High School, will take place before the flight home.
Mr Henderson, a physical education teacher at Ryde School, thanked sponsors Boden, the Appley Manor Hotel and the Woollings family.
