ALL COWES FINAL FOR GOLD CUP

By Clare Wall - Friday, May 2, 2008

EAST Cowes Vics have set up a tantalising IW Gold Cup final against neighbours Cowes Sports after defeating Newport 5-2 at Westwood Park on Friday.
There was little to choose between the two sides in the first half, though Vics took their few chances well to go into the break 2-1 up.
Goals were scored by May Katutondua and Tom McInnes for Vics, and Richard Morse for Newport.
Vics' keeper Ollie Fulljames kept his side in the game with some superb saves.
In the second half, Vics restored their two-goal advantage quickly thanks to another Katutondua goal scored from 12 yards.
But Newport were quickly back in it when Jamie White headed in from a free kick.
However, Vics put the game to bed with around 20 minutes left when Andy Ebbs scored a superb chipped goal from outside the box, and then McInnes scored his second after poor defending by Newport.
Vics, from Division One of the Sydenhams Wessex League, will now face Premier Division Cowes Sports on May 9, at 7.45pm. The venue is yet to be announced.
