IW 1, Guernsey 0
THE ladies' football team gained a last-minute victory against Guernsey today (Wednesday).

On top for most of the first half, the Channel Island side came back strongly in the last 15 minutes.
But it was the IW who won when a Sam HAYLES shot took a deflection and wrong-footed the Guernsey keeper.

SWIMMING
CLARE Grundy was the only individual finalist on Tuesday in the 50m butterfly. Unfortunately, her time of 30.61 seconds was only good enough for fifth position.
In the men's 50m freestyle relay, the squad of Matt Gard, Daniel Snellgrove, Andrew Teague and Sam Tinson-Wood battled hard but had to be content with seventh in the final.

TENNIS
WHILE Quentin Sloper has reached the last eight of the men's singles, the Pakenham-Walsh sisters went out at the round prior to the quarter-finals.
Netta and Jenny suffered 6-1, 6-3 defeats to Rhodes' Genimanddi and K. Faragher, from the Isle of Man, respectively.
