THREE more gold medals and two silver were added to the Island's tally in a red-letter day for the IW at the Island Games in Rhodes today (Thursday).
Marksman Richard Wilson gave the Island its second gold, shooting in the 50m prone smallbore rifle event.
Wilson, 42, of Queen's Road, Newport, is a member of Shanklin Rifle Club.
Then the IW Laser sailing team of Fishbourne brothers Richard and Andrew Talbot (standard), Richard Gray of Wootton and East Cowes man Jim McMillan (radial rig) took gold in the team event, while Andrew Talbot took individual silver.
McMillan was fourth in the radial event.
Meanwhile, in the long jump Kim Murray produced a great effort of 5.95m to comfortably win gold.
Earlier, an amazing seven under par from Shanklin and Sandown golfer Mark Bell secured him the first IW silver medal of the games.
The 20-year-old from Bembridge scored a superb 67, which lifted him from third overnight to the runner-up spot.
