Vectis Colts 21, Basingstoke Colts 12
VECTIS produced a storming display at the Fairway, Sandown, on Sunday to win the Hampshire under-17/under-18 plate final against Basingstoke.

Vectis started the brighter and forced Basingstoke into conceding a penalty, which was converted by Chris Lewis.
Vectis won a scrum just inside their own half and moved the ball with pace out to Tom Kite on the wing, who put the ball inside to James Keyworth for him to score the first try.
Basingstoke responded immediately with a converted try but Vectis were right back in the lead when man of the match Kite made a fantastic run from deep in his own half and after he was tackled, Harrison Booth was on hand to scoop up the ball and attack a gap in the defence to score.
Vectis looked the stronger with James Keyworth at 12, marshalling the defence and putting in some big hits.
Basingstoke gave away a penalty, which was converted by Lewis. The visitors came straight back from the restart to score in the corner and Vectis were forced to defend for long periods.
But they held their nerve and then seemed to find another gear. They broke with pace from their own 22 and with slick hands and strong running, worked the ball out wide for winger James Holmes to score just before the whistle.
Captain Richard Booth said: “This game is indicative of the confidence and self belief the team has shown all season.”
