From Chris Porter, Ventnor:
As I gaze across the fields of plastic mulching, which covers our Island at this time of year, I wonder what the equivalent would be in carrier bags?
I do hope all this plastic is recycled as otherwise, in order to produce crops inordinately early, we will be introducing toxins into the eco system; the effects of which will eventually far outweigh the short-term gains (profits) by poisoning the planet.
Perhaps the IW Council can advise as I understand it is intent on making the Island a plastic-free zone ?
