From Dave Cooke, Cowes:

I have a question concerning the disastrous floating bridge.

I think there is probably more chance of getting the answer, if it’s asked publicly through these columns.

As is plain to see, the ramps are too short and the vessel itself is too long, meaning at low tide, the chains cannot reach the bottom, thus impeding shipping.

Any shipyard that builds any type of vessel, does so from a set of drawings. These would be compiled by a naval architect.

My question is a very simple one: who appointed the architect, was it the yard that did the build, or was it our own esteemed council?

When we get the answer to this, we can begin to allot blame, and maybe, just maybe, sue for compensation.
