Have you heard the Island's big secret?

A new music festival has been launched, somewhat under the radar, called the Secret Widget Festival 2018.

The event will take place across three days and will be headlined by Slade, Focus, and Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band.

Also on the bill are John Coghlan's Quo, Chris Farlowe, Jethro Tull guitarist Martin Barre, the Kast Off Kinks and Bootleg Blondie.

It takes place at Calbourne Water Mill across the weekend of September 7 to 9.

Organisers Keith Burchett and Mike Sands have several decades of experience in organising festivals and a visit to Calbourne Mill was the Eureka moment for bringing something to the IW, as the infrastructure of the attraction is similar to what they work with at Weyfest.

Mike said: "We are so chuffed with the venue, and we are bringing the type of party music we all like. We have a lot of connections on the Island so it is ideal for us to create a new festival here."

The 35-acre setting will feature three stages and more than 30 bands from the 60s to the present day.

There is plenty of room for tents, campervans and caravans, plus eco houses available for rent and a glamping section.

Day tickets will also be available.
