AN ARMY of mods filled Ryde on Good Friday for the fourth annual March of the Mods.

Spread across four venues in the town, the celebration of mod culture saw 14 hours of live music and DJ sets, all in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Steve Robson, one of the organisers, said: "It was a fantastic day. We were packed out in every venue we went to.

"The atmosphere was amazing — everyone was singing along and dancing.

"We were so lucky with the quality of the bands we had."

Hundreds of people turned out to enjoy the day and raised well over £3,000 — and organisers are still collecting in money.

All the funds raised during the event are going to be directed to a ward in Southampton where young people from the IW receive cancer treatment.

The mods' first stop on Friday was Ryde Pavilion, which was so packed there was a one-in-one-out policy.

The march culminated at The Black Sheep, stopping at The King Lud and Coburgs.

All of the many bands and DJs performing on the day did so free of charge in order to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

Big brands like Levi's and Fred Perry donated prizes to the event's raffle.
