KNOWN for his action packed spy thrillers, Island author Jamie Fineran's next book will be about a more personal subject.

The army veteran, who served in Northern Ireland during the troubles, plans to publish a biography about his diagnosis of adult ADHD at the age of 36.

In a bid to help others in the same situation, he has urged people with ADHD to contact him to share their stories, with a view to including them in the book.

Jamie, 40, from Ryde, has led an extraordinary life. After seven years in the army he became homeless, living on the streets in Worcestershire, before he returned home to the Island and his luck changed.

He formed a band, The Kurves, that played around the UK, sharing festival bills with Amy Winehouse and The Prodigy.

Since he started writing he has sold more than 10,000 books including Sabre Six: File 51 and his latest novel, Vincent Black: MI6.

He is currently working with the film director Sacha Bennett on script he has written, Tango One, with a view to turning it into a feature film.
