MYTHICAL creatures from a land far away descended on Tapnell Farm Park for its first Unicorn Weekend.

The attraction welcomed Cloud the Unicorn, and Melody and Harmony the Unicorn Princesses — and they drew the crowds with 1,500 visitors through the gates.

To discover the unicorns, children first had to follow a rainbow trail to uncover a secret password.

They were also able to ride in the hobby horse trials, create unicorn-themed crafts and get a unicorn makeover from one of the face-painters.

Just for Unicorn Weekend, children were able to take a pony ride, thanks to Hill Farm.

Marketing manager Oli Whitehurst said: "Feedback was great, with families saying it was their best day at Tapnell so far. Having the unicorns with us for the weekend gave our visitor numbers a massive boost."
