CALLING all new musicians — how would you like to play the Isle of Wight Festival alongside Liam Gallagher, Depeche Mode, The Killers and Kasabian?

The festival has teamed up with promoter Hot Vox to launch the New Blood competition and find a talented new band or artist to perform at this year's festival.

Festival boss John Giddings said: "There are so many great unsigned artists out there so this is all about discovering them. It’s fantastic to give new bands and new talent the chance to play at one of the biggest festivals of the summer, featuring legendary acts. It really is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Every band in the country should be putting themselves forward for this!”

The competition is open to artists and bands throughout the UK. All artists have to do to register is submit an original song they feel best represents them.

Only the best submissions will go through to the live rounds, where artists will have the chance to perform live in front of a panel of music industry experts.

The judges' decision, couple with fans' votes, will determine who makes it through to the grand final — which will be held at the O2 Academy, Islington, on May 27

Acts who can mobilise their fans stand a great chance of getting through, as the artist or band with the most votes at www.hotvox.co.uk/artists will be fast-tracked straight to the final.

The competition is supported by ReverbNation, which has guaranteed all semi-finalists three months free membership. Those who make it through to the final will be offered a chance to sign up to its artist development programme.
