AN ISLAND singer's rendition of Leonard Cohen Hallelujah has gone viral, and sparked a hashtag to get her on the Ellen Degeneres Show.

Trinity Bubbles Song, 33 from Newport, posted her video on Facebook to enter a competition however, in just six days it has been viewed almost a 1.5 million times. It has also been posted on Ellen Nation, an Ellen Degeneres fansite, and sparked the hashtag #GetBubblesOnEllen.

Trinity said she was completely blown away by the response to the video: "I have no idea how it has got as far as it has.

"I am just so overwhelmed."

Trinity has auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent, the X-Factor and the Voice in the past but, despite her talent, has never made it past the first few rounds.

"I was pitted against all these beautiful, stick thin people who had more experience and confidence than me," she said.

"I want to go on the Ellen Show because she makes stuff happen and it doesn't matter who you are or what you look like."

Her video has since been tweeted and emailed to the team behind the Ellen Show.

Despite a handful of negative comments, Trinity said the response has been hugely positive: "I have had people saying they've made playlists from my songs, or that my song really helped them through a difficult day."

Trinity has never performed a live gig before instead performing live online broadcasts, sometimes several times a day.

She said: "I do live broadcasts in these virtual clubs and people bring their avatars to watch. I have always been anxious about doing a live gig.

"I have been bullied my whole life and have a fear of people."

However, Trinity will soon be putting her fears to one side as she will be performing her first live gig at the Coburgs, Ryde, on Sunday April 1 at 8pm.

She will also be performing at Isle of Wight Pride 2018.
