BRIGHT young things Nakamarra headlined their first show across the Solent - and absolutely smashed it according to their label boss.

The Isle of Wight indie five piece headlined the Chalkpit Records night at Heartbreakers bar and live music venue, Southampton, last month (November 30).

On a mission to nurture the next generation of rock stars, Island label Chalkpit launched its first branded promotional night in the city.

Chalkpit's Silas Gregory said: "Nakamarra smashed the launch show. We can't wait to host more live music across the pond, it's really going to benefit the Island music scene by having a stronger connection with the venues and music fans in Southampton.

Charlie Jones from Nakamarra said: "It was so good to be playing again. Two months without a show was taking its toll and to be performing in such a rad new venue was great for introducing our new tracks to new and old fans."
