POWER cuts are affecting residents in the West Wight today (Sunday).
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) said they are experiencing an unusually high number of calls today because of weather conditions hitting their South of England network.
A small power outage was reported to the electricity network in the Shorwell area at 7.45am, affecting postcodes PO30 3LL, PO30 3LP and PO30 3LW, a spokesperson for SSEN said.
At 11.26am, a much larger power cut was reported in the Yarmouth area, affecting 85 postcodes.
An SSEN spokesperson said: "We apologise for the loss of supply. We currently have a fault affecting the area.
"Our engineers are on site working to get the power back on as quickly as they can. If you need more information, please call us on 0800 072 7282 and quote reference 'CW9291'."
SSEN said both power cuts were expected to be fixed by 2pm.
