A BARN owl lived up to his name when he visited Earl Mountbatten Hospice's ward.

The bird, called Buzz, caused quite a stir when he popped into the hospice yesterday (Tuesday) with Jo Ling, manager of Haven Falconry Bird of Prey Centre.

Among the people he visited was Myrtle Crook, 94, who was able to hold Buzz using a falconry glove. Myrtle was delighted to see him. She said: "It's made it a happy day today."

Nigel Hartley, chief executive, said: "Thank you to Haven Falconry for the visit, which has really put a big smile on people's faces!"
