A MAN was stabbed in Newport last night (Tuesday).
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were called to the Cask and Crispin pub, on Carisbrooke Road, at 8.50pm last night.
A spokesperson said a man in his twenties had been stabbed in his right side and was taken to St Mary's Hospital for treatment.
Update — A man who was drinking in the pub at the time of the incident said the victim was stabbed around 400m from the venue and walked into the pub for help.
He was given a bar towel to hold over the wound until the ambulance service arrived.
