THE crew of a 36ft yacht managed to extinguish an engine room fire before safely making their way to Cowes this morning (Saturday).
The skipper alerted emergency services to the fire shortly before 9am and two fire crews from Newport were sent to the harbour.
They checked over the yacht after the crew brought her in safely within 30 minutes.
