COWES RNLI had a busy afternoon today (Friday), being tasked to two jobs in quick succession.
The first shout came just after 3pm when a small dinghy was found just East of Cowes with sails on board but no sign of an occupant.
Whilst coastguards contacted local sailing clubs, the lifeboat launched and began searching from the point at which the dinghy was first seen.

Being about the smallest sailing boat possible, an Optimist, the lifeboat crew brought it on board and took it to Fishbourne to hand it over to its owners.
That done, the lifeboat was further tasked to a motorboat with engine failure in a similar area.
They set up a tow and took the casualty up the River Medina to a safe berth at the Folly.
