CAMPAIGNERS fighting to save the Isle of Wight Studio School will stage a demonstration outside County Hall.

Protesters will meet at 5.30pm on Wednesday, ahead of the full council meeting at 6pm.

Posting on the 'Keep Our Studio School' Facebook page, they said: "It's time to protest. It's time to shout loudly.

"We need to publicly express our dismay at the potential loss of this fabulous school with a peaceful and respectful protest.

"Please join us."

As reported, the Isle of Wight Studio School has applied to the Department for Education to close in August, 2019, due to a lack of demand.

The East Cowes school is currently running at around 40 per cent capacity, with 49 students in Year 10 and 71 in Year 11.

But parents and supporters say the school should stay open and almost 14,000 people have signed a petition protesting its closure.
