FORGET The Rolling Stones performing at the Isle of Wight Festival or Stevie Wonder at Bestival — when Peppa Pig comes to town, it's really big news.

More than 1,500 people descended on Tapnell Farm over the weekend to meet Peppa, star of the children's cartoon, and have their picture taken with her.

Peppa was originally due to appear at the Freshwater farm park for one day only, but the event proved so popular organisers had to add an extra date.

Tapnell's marketing manager Oli Whitehurst said: "Peppa greeted lots of kids and parents throughout both days and posed for photos. As well as meeting Peppa Pig, kids enjoyed meeting all the other pigs and other animals at Tapnell."
