A ROOF caught fire in Gurnard this morning (Monday).
The Fire and Rescue service attended the scene at a bungalow on Cockleton Lane after receiving the call at 11.40am.
One fire engine from Newport and one from East Cowes are currently on scene, and two more from Ryde and one more from Newport are on their way with two officers.
No injuries have been reported and everyone that was in the house is safe.
The incident is ongoing.
UPDATE — The incident is still ongoing nearly three hours since the call.
UPDATE — The fire was stopped by 6.22pm today (Monday).
A spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Service said the property was entirely destroyed by the flames.
