AN ABANDONED Isle of Wight hovercraft has been spotted in Sierra Leone.

Charlie Stansfield, seven, and his brother Harry, five, live in Freetown, Sierra Leone, and come to the IW to visit their Grandma every summer.

They told the County Press: "We go on a boat, two aeroplanes, a train and then we know we're nearly here when we see the hovercraft. But we didn't expect to see one at the beginning of our journey.

"We found an old Island hover on the beach in Freetown. It used to take passengers from the city to the airport on the other side of the harbour. It isn't used anymore."
