THE ISLE of Wight Fire and Rescue Service was called to assist the Ambulance Service when an eleven year old fell from a height in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).

The co-responder was first on scene within a few minutes of the emergency call coming in, shortly followed by back up from ambulance service and fire crew who were called to help move the patient.

One fire engine from Freshwater Fire Station and the ambulance service attended the scene at School Green Road, Freshwater at around 12.30am.

A spokesperson from the ambulance service confirmed they took an eleven-year-old casualty to hospital.

Freshwater Fire Station confirmed in a tweet: "Just returned from a medical emergency, fall from height, with Isle of Wight Ambulance and 111 service."
