VENTNOR has been graced with a giant three storey mural — created by world famous street artist Phlegm.

The artwork was commissioned to herald the launch of Ventnor Fringe this week.

Depicting one of the artist's famous characters holding the town of Ventnor on its back, the creation has been inspired by the architecture, geography and people of the town.

Phlegm's distinctive black and white murals span across the globe from Toronto to London and the Ventnor Giant artwork has already been viewed around the world online, shining a spotlight on the town.

The mural can be found on Ventnor High Street, greeting those who enter the town centre from the Shanklin direction.

A free guided walk around an Arts Trail leaves from Ventnor Harbour at midday every day of the Fringe, until Sunday, August 12.

The mural has been created with the support of Lift The Lid, Down To The Coast and Ventnor Exchange.
