Cowes Sports FC manager Steve Hunt has surprisingly quit, just three games into the season and with the Yachtsmen flying high in the early weeks of The Sydenhams Wessex League season.

The club declined to confirm details but a spokesman said the club would be meeting tonight (Tuesday).

Hunt will meet with players before the training session tonight to tell them of his decision.

No successor has been chosen.

Hunt, who played for England, Aston Villa, West Brom Coventry and New York Cosmos in the 1970s and 80s, later moved into coaching and managerial posts before moving to the Isle of Wight where he set up children's coaching schools.
