MOTORISTS are being advised to avoid the Staplers Road area of Newport following a crash this afternoon (Friday).
Southern Vectis has reported a three-vehicle collision near to the Lavender Farm and the Isle of Wight Monkey Haven.
It happened at around 5pm.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, fire crews and police are on the scene.
Route 9 buses (Newport-Fairlee/Staplers-Binstead-Ryde) are being diverted via Fairlee.
UPDATE:
A spokesperson from the Ambulance Service said they had three ambulances on scene.
There are six casualties all with minor injuries.
The spokesperson said it was unlikely anyone would be taken to hospital.

A spokesperson from Isle of Wight Police said they were called at 3.45pm to reports of a collision on Staplers Road, Newport, near to the Lavender Farm.
It was a three vehicle collision between a BMW, a Citroen and a Dacia Duster.
Traffic is building up as a result.
