BOTH Hovertravel and Red Funnel have suspended their foot passenger services this afternoon (Friday).

A tweet from Red Funnel said their services were suspended due to a technical issue. They have apologised for the inconvenience caused to customers' journeys.

The hovercraft service is suspended due to the adverse weather conditions.

However, Solent Flyer, one of Hovertravel's crafts, needs remedial work so when service resumes, it will run to a revised timetable.

Wightlink's 3pm car ferry crossing from Lymington and the 4.05pm from Yarmouth have also both been cancelled due to high winds on the Solent.

UPDATE 16:30

Red Jet services remain suspended, owing to a break down.

Customers should go to the East Cowes Red Funnel terminal (Southern Vectis Route 5).
