ALL THINGS Isle of Wight were celebrated across the Isle today for the third ever Isle of Wight Day.

An Island-wide coastal clean-up started this morning (Saturday) and will run until the end of tomorrow, making it the UK's longest ever effort to rid the beaches of unwanted plastic waste.

The Isle of Wight Day parade, including marching bands, carnival entrants, speedway riders and High Sheriff Gioia Minghella on a Southern Vectis breezer, walked the streets of Cowes in celebration.

Some of those parading even popped into the local pub for a pint along the way — watch the parade video below:

Bembridge Harbour, Fort Victoria and the Totland trail all hosted special Isle of Wight Day events, with a food festival at Bembridge continuing tomorrow (Sunday) and their Oktoberfest celebrations carrying on until 11pm this evening.

It's a Knockout! was held in Northwood Park this afternoon before finale fireworks kick off at 7pm tonight (Saturday).

Teams from the Island's businesses and companies competed for the top spot in the slippery inflatable race — here's some footage of how they managed:

The Isle of Wight Day fun carries on tomorrow with free entry into the The Shipwreck Centre & Maritime Museum, Arreton, the Island's Got Talent final and a Song's of Praise, presented by Alan Titchmarsh, at Cowes Enterprise College.

More details of all of Isle of Wight Day's events are available on their website.
