HE HAS terrible tusks, and terrible claws, and terrible teeth in his terrible jaws — and he's coming to the Isle of Wight.

The Gruffalo will make a special guest appearance at Tapnell Farm Park's Wild Woodland Weekend, on November 10 and 11.

Visitors will be invited to take an autumn stroll in the deep dark wood to meet the mythical monster from the popular children's books.

There will also be a host of woodland activities on offer, including craft and storytime sessions, and animals to meet — including owls, snakes and tiny harvest mice.

Manager Dan Selle said: "We ran a poll with our season pass holders to see which character they would like to see at our park, and the overwhelming favourite was the Gruffalo.

"To make his visit extra special, we will be theming the whole weekend around the wild woodland, with lots of fun and educational activities for kids and adults to get involved with."
