A 'DYING to Know' information event, where people can find out about end of life care services on the Isle of Wight, will be held in Shanklin this weekend.

Organised by Age UK Isle of Wight and Jigsaw Training and Development Services, as part of the Age Friendly Island project and Celebrating Age Festival, it will be held on Saturday (October 13) at YMCA Winchester House, Sandown Road.

The event aims to inform people over 50 about services and products available on the Island, and the support available to those navigating the end of life planning process.

Stall holders will include solicitors, funeral directors, ministers, Pets At Rest and Mountbatten, all experienced in the practicalities involved when making end of life decisions.

There will be talks on subjects such as funding and financial planning, probate, living wills and the power of attorney.

Supported by the Big Lottery Fund, the Age Friendly Island project aims to create a community that is happy, healthy and connected, and ensure older people age well in every way, every day.

The Dying To Know event takes place from 10am to 4pm.
