From S Meadow, Ryde:
As we head towards winter and colder weather with ever-increasing fuel bills, I wonder if we are going to experience the usual, appalling waste of energy with shops keeping their doors wide open.
Apparently, footfall takes precedence over this needless waste, which we, the customers, no doubt pay for.
Even charity shops are often guilty of this.
Surely their donations should be used for the purpose for which they were given, not to heat the street.
