ISLE of Wight schnauzers grabbed their owners and joined in the dog meet-up fun last weekend for the annual Schnauzerfest.

Schnauzerfest is a nationwide fundraising collection of walks with schnauzers held all over Britain which bring together schnauzers and their human and other canine friends.

It raises money for the Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue Centre, based in Berkshire, which provides loving care and veterinary treatment for animals that have experienced the terrible conditions of puppy farms and other rough backgrounds.

The Island Schnauzerfest travelled from Newchurch, up through the fields of hope, along the cycle track and back for lunch, raising £200 for Schnauzerfest through honesty box donations.

Organiser of the IW event, Bev Moore, said: "A great effort by everyone and thank you all so much for coming. We have raised a brilliant £200 for Schnauzerfest. It was lovely to meet you all."
