DOZENS of people enjoyed taking part in the National Trust's goat round-up on Ventnor Downs on Thursday (11).
The team of volunteers trekked across St Boniface Down to Coombe Bottom to herd the goats into a pen for their annual check.
The terrain was trickier this year, due to it being more overgrown than the usual downland the goats occupy to the east of the current patch, so not all the goats were successfully captured.
Those that were rounded up were counted, had their hooves trimmed, ear tags checked, and general health vetted, before being released again.
The annual event was featured on BBC Countryfile two years ago, when TV presenter Anita Rani joined the volunteers.
The goats help the National Trust to look after the downland.
