FIREFIGHTERS from Sandown are tackling a fire in the open on Sandown seafront this evening (Thursday).
One engine from Sandown Fire Station is at the scene at Culver Parade. A spokesperson from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said the fire is based in an grassland area opposite the sea.
The crew were called at 6.24pm.
UPDATE: The crew dealt with the two metre by two metre unattended fire near Brown's Golf Course by 7pm.
The firefighters have now left the scene.
