A NEW to the Island children's charity, BabyBank Network, needs your help.

BabyBank Network — a charity that helps alleviate child poverty and supports families in need while reducing waste — has opened a branch on the Isle of Wight.

The charity started in Bristol in 2017 with a mission to collect baby clothes, toiletries, equipment, cots, prams and toys that are pre-loved and to pass them on to families in need.

Claire Shortman, one of the trustees for the Island branch, said: "We will work with local professionals who support vulnerable families to give them a service they can use should someone require help."

The service is provided for free and all donations go directly to help the charity support as many families as possible.

Claire said: "In order to support the donations received and to meet demand, we need a space to store the items.

"We have found the ideal place that gives us access seven days a week, where we can store and sort through items and prepare them for distribution."

In order to make this a reality, the charity is asking for ten businesses to sponsor the project with a £20 donation per month for the next six months.

This would cover the overheads, storage and storage.
