THE Countess of Wessex will open a new manufacturing and marine training centre when she visits the Isle of Wight next week.
She will officially open the Centre of Excellence for Composites Advances Manufacturing and Marine (CECAMM) facility, the Isle of Wight College's specialist engineering centre at East Cowes.
Sponsored by the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership, and supported by key Isle of Wight employers, including GKN Aerospace, the £12 million facility will offer specialist education and training in a range of fields.  & ;lt;/div>
During her visit, next Wednesday, the Countess will also visit Shanklin Chine and the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
Lord Lieutenant of the Isle of Wight, Maj Gen Martin White, said: “We are very much looking forward to welcoming Her Royal Highness back to the Island and give her the opportunity to see the marvellous work carried out in our community.” 
Isle of Wight Council chairman Cllr Lora Peacey Wilcox said: “Once again we are delighted to have our royal family taking such a keen interest in the achievements of our Island. 
“Her Royal Highness is warmly welcomed back, and it is hoped the diversity of places for her to see will only encourage more visits. We sincerely thank the Countess for coming to our beautiful Island.”
